784 If injury sustained while on duty necessitates the engineer's going into hospital for treatment, $5 a day will be paid him for medical expenses. Should death result from the severity of the injury there will be issued a compassionate grant of eight months' pay. Should it entail the loss of a limb or disablement the engineer will receive four months' pay as invalided allowance.

The engineer having an allowance for sundry expenses will not while on duty be entitled to any extra pay for board and lodging: but when he goes on tour on business he will have supplied by the Head Railway Bureau horse and boat transport as well as lodgings and carriage of his baggage, finding himself in food only.
9.
Under ordinary circumstances no leave can be applied for nor will there be any summer vacation. Sick leave is limited to ten days after which it will be continued only on production of a proper medical certificate.
10.
If the engineer should not observe this agreement the Head Railway Bureau may at once dismiss him and pay his salary and allowance up to the day of his dismissal.
